27 September 2011 Energy, Earth & Human Body The Old and the NewIn
preliterate times, our ancestors lived in a world full of mysterious
forces that governed their lives from: planetary cycles to storms;
‘life forces’ to unseen spirit worlds; witch doctors to the hands of
the healer. In the last
100 years modern science has been able to quantify these strange and
invisible forces. These discoveries provide scientific evidence that can
explain how two or more persons can sense or feel a connection or
influence and affect the other. Similarly it can quantify an
individual’s connection with the Earth or another living organism. The ancient
idea that there are universal forces governing human affairs does have a
basis in reality. Instead of gods and spirits modern science has
substituted them with electromagnetic fields, but the results are
strikingly similar. (Robert
O Becker, Cross Currents) To understand the electromagnetic fields and connection of the human body we must first look at the Earth's Geomagnetic Field. The
Earth's Geomagnetic Field
The
spinning core of molten iron miles beneath the surface of the Earth
creates a dipole magnetic field, much like a bar magnet. However, the
energy of the sun distorts and perturbs this simple field into a unique
structure, the magnetosphere. The magnetosphere shades the earth from
deadly ionising radiation (such as x-rays) and other high-energy
radiation, by absorbing them or diverting them around the Earth. Thanks
to the magnetosphere we are able to live on a small-protected planet in
a hostile universe filled with enormous forces. The
magnetic field is constantly changing as the earth rotates. The daily
rise and fall in the strength of this field causes biological rhythms,
magnetic and solar storms. These can impinge on the magnetosphere and
cause great magnetic-field disturbances to: electric transmission,
telephone lines, radio and television signals, causing their breakdown. The question of whether living systems are sensitive to the earth’s magnetic field has been bitterly controversial for more than a century. There are now a number of plausible and well-documented mechanisms for such interactions, and abundant evidence that they take place. Moreover, Becker’s research has shown how geomagnetic entrainment of the brain waves can affect the entire nervous system at a very high level of control (i.e. the perineural DC systems that extends throughout the body and has roles in regulating injury repair). This can have an effect on the human biological system and human behaviour. The
Human Body Electrical Circuitry System Looking at cellular
biology, scientific research has revealed that the human body has a
connective circuitry system that enables the body to communicate and
function on all levels. However the full complexity of the circuitry
system is still only partially understood. Some of the fundamental
discoveries that help us to understand the body’s electrical circuitry
are demonstrated through the works of Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, James
Oschman and Robert O Becker. The
heart is the electrical powerhouse of the human body. Each heartbeat begins
with a pulse of electricity through the heart muscle. This electricity
arises because a large number of charged particles (ions of sodium,
potassium, chloride, calcium and magnesium) flow across the muscle
membranes to excite contraction. These ionic currents also spread into
surrounding tissue. (J
Oschman, Energy Medicine) These charged ions are found throughout the body creating a whole
circuitry system that joins to form an energy continua, along which
energy, namely excited electrons, may travel a certain distance. (Albert
Szent-Gyorgyi, Nobel Prize winner). Robert Becker’s research
into cellular regeneration using electrodes has made an important
discovery in that the human body has a quickly reversing AC
electrical field that is produced by the back-and-forth alternating
current in the nerves and muscles. Additionally the body has a
DC electrical field from the
direct current that travels along the perineural systems (the nerve
sheath cells). This DC current forms a closed loop electrical circuit
(like in the wiring of your house). (Robert O Becker, Body Electric, Nominee for Nobel Prize). For any visitor or patient
of an Accident and Emergency department they will be aware that doctors are
able to measure the hearts and brains electricity with the use of an EEG
or ECG machine. If you haven’t then there is another more daunting
experience and that is of an electric shock from a live current or a
milder static shock. The Human Electromagnetic Fields Physics has shown that any
flowing electrical current produces a magnetic field in the space around
it. Similarly, that a changing, pulsing, or
moving magnetic field can produce an electrical current flow in an
electrical conductor placed within the field. These are known as
electromagnetic fields that have energy and can carry information within
the body and extend outside of the body (commonly known as an aura,
energy body, enrgy rings or
etheric field). Today the magnetic field
(called the magneto encephalogram, or MEG) produced by the brain is
easily detected using the SQUID magnetometer.

The pineal gland (situated in the middle of the forehead) is the primary magnetoreceptor in humans. Between 20 - 30% of pineal cells are magnetically sensitive. Exposure of animals to magnetic fields of various intensities alters the secretion of melatonin, the electrical properties of pineal cells, and their microscopic structure (reviewed by Sandyk 1995). In addition, it has been postulated that a natural magnet mineral 'magnetite', the original lodestone of preliterate people is our 'Magnetic Organ'. It can be found in almost all types of living organisms. It is located in the posterior wall of the ethmoid sinus (located high up at the back of the nasal passage just in front of the pituitary gland). The Magnetic Organ is closely connected to the brain. It has been shown unequivocally to be the sense organ that informs the body of the direction of the Earth's magnetic field. Just to emphasize the magnificent way the body functions nature has provided us with an organ that provides the connection between the human body and the geomagnetic fields of the Earth. This human electromagnetic
field sensitivity means that we often experience electromagnetism,
without realization of its magnitude. Depending on a person’s
electromagnetic sensitivity will reflect on a person’s reaction or
sense to these natural forces. Examples include:
